Receive The Gift Of The Holy Spirit

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. John 1:29-34

Jesus said: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 15:26

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 2:27

If you want to, you can baptize yourself in the name of Jesus Christ in your own bath, or at the beach.  I did this more than 20 years ago, and I said to the Lord, "I don't know if you accept this, but I baptize myself in the name of Jesus Christ."  That night while in bed, I know I received the gift of the Holy Spirit when a soft dim lamp shone over my head the whole night and I could hear myself mumbling.  This is what happened to the disciples, when they received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.  I'm not sure if this experience happens to everyone, but trust the Lord will answer the cry of your heart.  Another thing you can do is ask your heavenly Father to give you the gift of the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in this verse:

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13
